Now you can see in a wink in which recording format the sounds you're browsing on Surround Library are !
How does it work? Simple, each recording format (say B-Format, Double-M/S, MMAD, or IRT) has its own waverform color, so you can see instantly in what format the sound has been recorded in.
Here's how we did it.
B-Format
This is a B-Format sound.
4 channels, W, X, Y, Z.
Double M/S
This is a Double M/S sound.
3 channels, M1/S/M2.
Full 7.1 or 5.1
This is a pure 7.1 or 5.1 sound.
6 channels, L/R/C/LFE/Ls/Rs, and 8 channels, L/R/C/LFE/Ls/Rs/Bsl/Bsr.
IRT cross
This is an IRT cross sound.
4 channels, L/R/Ls/Rs.
Double A/B
This is a Double A/B sound.
4 channels, L/R/Ls/Rs.
Double ORTF
This is a Double ORTF sound.
4 channels, L/R/Ls/Rs.
ORTF Surround
This is an ORTF Surround sound.
4 channels, L/R/Ls/Rs.
We're still in the process of converting pictures, so some of them could still be in the "ancient" format.
