Hi everyone, some words, just to tell who i am and why i'm involving into
surround sound.

My name is Gaël NICOLAS (like the big tittle on the top of my best portrait), I'm not so young neither too old. For those who are wondering, i'm living in Paris (France).
I'm mostly working in the film industy (this IMDB link is supposed to tell you what's going on), for many years now i've been concerned by sounds in 5.1.
Some says that 5.1 is only a matter of a delivering format. This was not my way of thinking ! In 2004 i decided to grab my own surround sounds. After a while, Ambisonic was the best choice i could do.
First of all it's a saving time format, 1 sound feed 5 speakers. Then no phase problem between each output, so Ambisonic is "Dolby SR" friendly.
As the visual 3D, ambisonic is the most true immersive result, considering that the recordings get the whole dimension and sounds are ready for the next 12.1 (no speakers limitation).
Sounds can be dynamicaly rotated, zoomed in real time, best friends for sound editing, all can be easily done in Post Pro.

For all those reasons and plenty of others, i decide to do a big part of my recordings in "B-Format" Ambisonic.
